Since 1971, Family Health International (FHI) has been at the forefront of public health research and intervention programs in the developing countries. In collaboration with national governments, local communities and leading research institutions. FHI delivers service and conducts research in HIV/AIDS and infectious diseases and reproductive health to improve the lives and well-being of some of the world’s most vulnerable populations. In Nigeria, FHI is engage in providing public health service and undertaking research in HIV/AIDS, TB and reproductive health, in partnership with the Government of Nigeria. To strengthen our operations in the country, we are seeking qualified candidates for the position of:


ZONAL MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER


The Zonal monitoring and evaluation officer, under the supervision of the Zonal Manager and with technical oversight from the Associate Director M&E will be responsible for implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities in the zone.


 


RESPONSIBILITIES;


Ø Work with other Zonal staff to ensure that zonal monitoring and evaluation activities are appropriate and meet donor and project M&E needs.


Ø Provide support to sites in the zone, including interacting with program managers, M&E focal persons, M&E officers of SACA/SASCP, other implementation agencies and local research group on M&E needs and ensure that these parties understand and can support these requirements.


Ø Support the implementation and use of monitoring and evaluation tools, including adherence to complete, correct and timely reporting.


Ø Conduct routine monitoring visits to project sites, including data quality assessments (DQAS) using standard tools.


Ø Assist in the preparation of monthly reports and provide supportive supervision to the zonal M&E teams.


Ø Ensure that program/project activities are of high quality through adherence to SOPs and by supporting the development and implementation of appropriate mechanisms to assure quality.


MINIMUM STANDARD REQUIREMENTS


Ø BSc/BA, MPH, MD, or similar degree in monitoring and evaluation, medicine, pharmacy or related field with 3-5 years post-NYSC experience in monitoring and evaluation in productive health or HIV/AIDS programs in developing countries.


Ø Experience in working with local partners, including NGOs and CBOs and knowledge of the local context.


Ø Excellent computer skills, with specially in spreadsheet and other databases


Ø Knowledge and experience in the implementation of project level or state/national monitoring and evaluation systems.


Ø Working knowledge of and/or formal training in the use of Lafiya Management Information system (LAMIS) will be an added advantage.


Ø Familiarity with USAID programs will be preferred.
