The West African Monetary Institute (WAMI) established under the agreement of the West African Monetary Zone (WAMZ) is charged with the responsibility of managing the stages of implementation of the WAMZ up to the commencement of the West African Central Bank (WACB) on December 1, 2009. It is located in Accra, Ghana. The Institute requires the services of

DIRECTOR, FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION.

Duties and Responsibilities
The main duties of the Director, Finance and Administration would among others include the following:
*Assist the Director in the day-to-day administration of the Finance Division.
*Prepare the Institute's budget and monitor its implementation.
*Articulate and ensure budgetary controls and procedures.
*Provide periodic reports on budget performance.
*Authorise the payment of staff remuneration, goods and services, and the maintenance of proper accounting records.
*Prepare financial statements and any other financial reports that may be required by management.
*Management of the Institute's investments to obtain maximum returns. This includes advising management on the various investments options.
*Relate with External and internal auditors during their in with a view to making available to them necessary records and explanation s required for their audit.
*Personnel & human resources functions (preparing and implementing personnel policies and procedure.
*Supervision of all matters relating to logistics- general procurement, stationeries, motor vehicle maintenance, travel arrangements.
*Drafting and updating of the Staff Manual of Rules and Regulations
*Supervise the planning and organizing of all statutory and other technical meetings of the WAMZ
*Review staff performance criteria and updating of the form
*Staff development and training
*Recruitment and appointment of support staff
*Draft human resources, budget and accounting manuals for the WAMZ institutions
*Any other duties that may from time be assigned.
Qualification and Experience
*A minimum of First degree in finance, economics, management or other related field in addition to a recognized professional Accounting qualification.
*Advanced university degree in finance, economics or management would be an advantage
*At least fifteen years working experience with demonstrated leadership and human resource management skills through work experience in Senior position in a financial institution, private sector or public organization
*Demonstrated strong planning and people motivation skills in a multinational environment
*Excellent communication skills both oral and written
*Fluent in one of the WAMI's two languages (English and French), working knowledge of the other will be an advantage.

Mandate duration
Two (2) year, renewable
