INVITATION FOR PRE-QUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS/SUPPLIERS FOR EDUCATION TRUST FUND (E.T.F) SPECIAL INTERVENTION PROJECTS.

In compliance with the requirements of the Public Procurement Act of the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Kaduna Polytechnic hereby invites interested and reputable contractors/suppliers with relevant experience and good track record for pre-qualification for execution of Education Trust Fund Special Intervention Projects as follows.

LOT F. PROCUREMENT OF WORKSHOP AND LABORATORY EQUIPMENTS.

  1. Procurement of Workshop Equipment and Machineries for Mechanical Engineering Department.
  2. Procurement of Laboratory/Workshop Equipment for Mechanical Engineering Department.
  3. Procurement of Soil Laboratory Equipment for Civil Engineering Department.
  4. Procurement of Water Resources Engineering Laboratory Equipment for Civil Engineering Department.
  5. Procurement of Transportation Laboratory Equipment for Civil Engineering Department.
  6. Procurement of Material Structure Laboratory Equipment for Civil Engineering Department
  7. Procurement of Survey Equipment for Civil Engineering Department.
  8. Procurement of Laboratory and Workshop Equipment for Electrical and Computer Engineering Departments
  9. Procurement of High Voltage Laboratory Equipment for Electrical and Computer Departments.
  10. Procurement of Laboratory Equipment for Electrical and Computer Engineering Depart
  11. Procurement of Laboratory Equipment for Chemical Engineering Department.
  12. Procurement of Workshop Equipment for Mineral Resources Engineering Department

2.      PRE-QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS.

Interested contractors/suppliers are to forward their pre-qualification documents stating the project they intend to handle. Such documents should include;

  1. i.            Evidence of Incorporation/Registration with Corporate Affairs Commission
  2. ii.            Evidence of Tax clearance certificate in the last three (3) years (2007-2009)
  3. iii.            Evidence of VAT Registration and remittance in the last three years (2007-2009)
  4. iv.            Company profile which should include names, qualification and experience of key personnel, list of similar projects previously executed with photographs, contract values, locations and names of clients to include GSM numbers) and e-mail addresses of the firm if available.
  5. v.            Evidence of valid subsisting registration with FME/FMH/FMWT.
  6. vi.             Evidence of similar projects handled by the firm including cost (Practical Completion Certificate).
  7. Evidence of valid subsisting registration with Kaduna Polytechnic in the relevant category.
  8. Evidence of financial capability to handle the chosen project.
  9. ix.            Original documents should be available for sighting on demand during or after opening of pre-qualification documents.

3.     SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS.

Applications for pre-qualification should be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked

SUPERVISION OF CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF RURAL ROADS NETWORK USING OUTPUT AND PERFORMANCE BASED CONTRACTS (OPRC) IN KADUNA

REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)

This request for Expression of Interest (EOI) follows the General Procurement

Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in the Development Gateway Market Web Site and appeared in Development Business, issue no. 725 of 30th

day of April 2008.

The Kaduna State Government has received a credit of from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of the Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP 1) in Kaduna State and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Consultancy Services Supervision of Construction of Rural Road Network Using Output and Performance Based Contracts (OPRC) in Kaduna State

The objective of the consultancy is to provide technical and financial supervision in order to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the contract and to the satisfaction of the Employer in rural areas covering nine local government areas of which the rural roads have been grouped into four lots; two in the north and two in the south,. A second objective is to draw as much experience as possible from the contracts to assist the possible wider deployment of Output and Performance Based Road Contract (OPRC) contracts on other parts of the road network.

The Consultant shall provide construction supervision including the provision of qualified experienced personnel, management, coordination and efficient execution of these services.

The implementing agency, the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) on behalf of Kaduna State Ministry of Work and Transport, now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff etc). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

The consultant will be selected using Quality Cost Based Selection (QCBS) method of selection of consultants in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines; Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, published in May 2004 edition revised October 2006.

One original and three copies of the Expression of Interest must be

submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Expression of Interest for

Only companies with the capacity to execute and deliver within the planned completion period shall be pre-qualified and invited to bid for financial proposal.
