Tender Invitation
- Tender is hereby invited from reputable companies and contractors registered with Bwari Area Council, FCT, for the execution of the following jobs:
A) Rural Electrification:
- Supply of 1No Brand New 500KVA/11/0.415KV and 1N0 300KVA/11/0.415KV Transformers for Installation at Kubwa
- Supply of 1No. Brand New 500KVA/33/0.415KV Transformer for Installation at Kogo
- Supply of INo. Brand New 500KVA/11/0.415KV for Installation in Bwari Town
B) Rural Road:
- Rehabilitation of Bwari – Igu – Kawu Road, Phase I. measuring 7km in length, to include Grading, Filling. Compaction Works, as well as the Construction of Concrete Culverts.
C) Rural Water Scheme:
1. Drilling and Development of Solar Powered Motorized Boreholes at Dutsen Sagwari Primary Healthcare Centre, including the Construction of 20m2 Elevated Tank on a 9m Steel
2. Tower. Drilling and Development of Solar Powered Motorized Boreholes at Kuduru Primary Healthcare Centre, including the Construction of 20m2 Elevated Tank on a 9M Steel Tower.
COLLECTION OF TENDER DOCUMENTS:
Tender Documents are available in the Office of the Chairman Tenders Board, Bwari Area Council, Council Secretariat Bwari -Abuja, FCT
Companies and Contractors are enjoined to collect the following tender details: *
a) Drawing (where necessary)
b) Unpriced Bills of Quantities
c) Structural Engineer’s Details and Specifications Contractors/Companies are also enjoined to visit and inspect the site before the submission of their tender.

INVITATION FOR PRE-QUALIFICATION OF CONTRACTORS AND SUBMISSION OF ICT PROPOSALS FOR THE 2010 CAPITAL PROJECTS
The National Universities Commission is desirous of executing the following Capital Projects and Services on contract:
a. Rehabilitation of Abuja Office:
Lot 1 A: - External Painting of Main Secretariat Complex
Lot 1 B: – Replacement of Curtain Wall in the Secretariat Building
Lot 1 C: – Re-carpeting of Idris Abdulkadir Auditorium
b. Rehabilitation of NUC Liaison Office, Lagos:
Lot 2A: – Rehabilitation of Liaison Office – Main Building
Lot 2B: - Rehabilitation of Liaison Office – Annex.
c. Lot 3: – Video Conferencing- (Phase II) for 10 Universities
The details of engagement shall comprise the design, development, deployment and support services for the system and the integration with the existing 5 sites in the 1st phase of the project.
d. Lot 4: – Procurement and Installation of Anti-Cultism Equipment/Gadgets
(CCTV & Solar Panels) phase 1 for 3 Pilot Universities.
e. Independent Power Source for NUC Secretariat:
Lot 5A: – Solar Street Lighting
Lot 5B: - Office Solar Power Unit
Lot 5C: – Procurement of 1.5 MVA Generator for the NUC Secretariat
Interested Contractors are expected to submit Pre-Qualification Documents/Proposals with the payment of a non-refundable fee of N20, 000.00 (Twenty thousand Naira) to NUC Treasury in Bank Draft in favour of NUC as “Processing fee” for each lot.
For the Pre-Qualification assessment, Tenderers are expected to submit the
following documents.
i. Evidence of Incorporation by the Corporate Affairs Commission.
ii. Letter of Bank reference.
iii. Evidence of current registration with the Federal Ministry of Works (where applicable),
iv. Tax Clearance Certificate for the last 3 years (2007 – 2009). Also required is V.A.T. registration Certificate and past remittances
v. Comprehensive Company Profile including names of principal shareholders and key staff, qualifications and genuine reachable addresses and phone numbers (enclose photocopies of credentials),
vi. Verifiable Plants and Equipment of the Company (where applicable) Details of previous relevant jobs indicating clients, contract sum, year of award and date of completion (with evidence)
- Evidence of Financial Capability and access to Financial Resources from a reputable Bank
- A network Service Provider duly licensed under the relevant ICT professional body (for Lot 3)
ix. A sworn affidavit that all documents submitted are genuine and verifiable
x. A sworn affidavit that none of its Directors has been convicted in any Country, for any criminal offence including fraud or financial impropriety
The Commission reserves the right to verify the authenticity of Claims made in the pre-qualification documents as submitted.
Pre-qualification documents should be enclosed in sealed envelopes marked 2010 Pre-Qualification Lot, “Sealed separate envelopes should be provided for each LOT and should be addressed to:

The Pre-Qualification Document should be submitted in the “Tender Box” located on the 5th Floor of the National Universities Commission on or before 12 noon on 1st March, 2010.
Tenderers are invited to attend the ceremony for the opening of the submissions by 2:00 p.m. on 1st March, 2010 at the NUC Conference Room.
Please note that this Pre-Qualification is NOT an invitation to the financial tender as only those who are successful during the Pre-Qualification exercise will be invited to the financial tender. The National Universities Commission is neither committed, nor obliged to reply any company that is found not suitable.

(f) Evidence of previous similar contracts stating contract value and showing evidence of award and timely completion.
(g) Evidence of Company’s Registration with SUBEB Gombe
