LABORATORY SERVICES TO ANALYSE SOIL, GROUNDWATER, SEDIMENT AND GAS SAMPLES FOR OGONILAND ENVIRONMENTAL SURVEY PROJECT IN NIGERIA

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) are jointly undertaking a project to assess the environmental impacts associated with the oil field operations In Ogoniland, Nigeria. The objective of the project is to conduct a comprehensive environmental assessment covering all possible areas of impacts (soil/water contamination, impacts on the public health, agriculture and fisheries). In order to undertake the project, the United Nation: is seeking the services of a reputable laboratory services provider with ISO 17025 certification to carry out the assignment.

Interested companies with the requisite experience in Laboratory Services are requested to submit bids based on the Terms of Reference/Specifications available on the following website www.undp.org/procurement www.ungm.org www.ng.ungdp.org on or before 12 noon on 14th January 2010. All bids should be marked in accordance with the instructions stated in the ITB document and addressed to:

Bids received after the specified time will be rejected.

Please note that UNOP is exempt from all customs duties and taxes and can provide documentation for same.

UNDP reserves the right to reject any or all bids sent to this Invitation to Bid (ITB) and reserve the right to split awards for any of the items and place separate or multiple orders.

Any award resulting from this ITB will be subject to UNDP General Terms and Conditions for Commercial Services.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information, inspect at or purchase the bidding documents at the office of the Procurement Officer, Sokoto State Fadama III Co-ordination Office (SFCO).

Bidders can purchase the bidding documents upon payment of a non-refundable fee in the form a Bank Draft or cash for the sum of N10, 000.00 only, in favour of Sokoto Fadama III Project.

All bids must be accompanied by a bid Security as specified above in the form of irrevocable letter of credit or Bank Guarantee and must be delivered to the office of Procurement Officer, Sokoto State Fadama III Coordination Office not later than 12:00pm (Local Time) on 18th January, 2010.

Bidders quoting in foreign currency will have to submit bid security in US Dollars, and Bidders quoting in Local currency must submit bids security in Naira.

Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders representatives who chose to attend the bid opening at 12:00 hours (Local Time) on 18th January, 2010 at the Sokoto State Ministry of Agriculture premises.
