IMPLEMENT COMMUNICATION PROGRAMME

Society for Family Health (SFH) was founded in 1985 and is one of Nigeria’s foremost Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and supports the government’s public health interventions in three key areas; HIV/AIDS prevention, family planning and maternal & child health (malaria and diarrhoea control), SFH partners with media organizations to promote behaviour change and healthy lifestyles.

SFH is a co- Principal Recipient of the Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Nigeria; Round 4 Phase 2 and Round 8 grants.

The advocacy, social   movement   and   communications campaign components of the grant will achieve the following specific sub-outputs of this project.

Create  a malaria prevention culture through the promotion the informed demand for, and appropriate use of, Artemisinin Combination Therapies (ACT) Long lasting Insecticide treated Nets (LLINs) and Intermittent Preventive Therapy (IPT).

Increase effective malaria treatment of children under five years and pregnant women through improved health seeking behavior at the private health facilities and support informed demand for prepackaged ACT and compliance with the appropriate drug dose.

The Society for family Health (SFH) uses media and inters-personal communication (IPC) to promote healthier lifestyles among Nigerians. SFH, seeks proposals from communication agencies to implement a radio drama focusing on the above  sub objectives. The selected agency would  be expected to develop and produce 26 episodes of 15 minute dramas in four languages Hausa, Igbo, Pidgin and Yoruba.

Upon the receipt of your expression of interest, SFH will provide a request for proposal (RFP) with a detailed description of malaria epidemiology in Nigeria, SFH’s contribution to the National malaria control efforts in Nigeria, objectives of the drama intervention and a detailed creative brief to shortlisted agencies.

The letter for the expression of interest should reach our office address below on or before 5.00pm,Friday 12th February, 2010 in an envelope marked SBC/RAD.DR/2010”.
