1.     This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in  Development Business, issue no.673 of 28th  February, 2006.

2.     The Lagos Water Corporation has received a credit from International Development Association (IDA)     toward the cost of Second National Urban Water Sector Reform Project, and it intends to apply part of     the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for Procurement of Leakage Detection and     Sensor Equipment Contract No: LSWC/2NUWSRP/NCB/GDS.045

3.     The Lagos Water Corporation now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for     Procurement of Leakage Detection and Sensor Equipment Contract No:     LSWC/2NUWSRP/NCB/GDS.045

4.     Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the     World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits and is open to all bidders     from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5.     Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Lagos Water Corporation, Water House,     Ijora-Lagos, Nigeria and inspect the Bidding Documents from Monday to Friday (except public holidays)     between the hours of 9 OOam^l 00pm at the address given below:

RBAN WATER
1       Evidence as a supplier of key equipments in the last three (3) years
2       Evidence of active Average Annual Turnover of business of not less than N60million in the last three (3)     years
3       Evidence of Line (s) of Credit or Positive Liquid Assets of not less than
N20nulhon to execute Contract
A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured domestically shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.

7.     A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the     submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee N     25,000.00. The method of payment will be by Bank Draft in favour of Lagos Water Corporation. All     payments shall be receipted.

8.     Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 30th July, 2009 at 1,00pm. Electronic bidding     will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’     representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below on or before 30th July 2009 at     1.00pm.

All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount N/500,000.00 (five Hundred Thousand Naira only) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
