INVITATION FOR PRE-OUAL1FICATION

The Kano State Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in its continued commitment to boost agricultural production intends to procure fertilizer under contract for distribution to its teeming farmers for which the invitation for prequalification is issued.

The Kano State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources hereinafter ‘the employer” intends to pre-qualify contractors for the supply of assorted fertilizer for the 101 agricultural season. The commodity is expected to meet the following standard:-

1.         CHEMICAL COMPOSITION

NPK 15:15:15 – Not less than 13%N, 13%P2)5 and 13%k2O

NPK 20:10:10 – Not less than 17%N, 8%P2O2  and 8%K2O

UREA – Not less than 44%N

2.         PHYSIC ALFEATURES

i.          Each fertilizer should be non-caking with minimum dust and free flowing

ii.         It should be packaged in double layer 50kg waterproof bag (50kg gross weight).

CONDITIONS OF DELIVERY AND PAYMENT

Payment for consignment will be on delivery and certification by the Ministry

Delivery for consignment sourced in Kano must be completed within one week

Deli very for consignment sourced from Lagos and Port Harcourt must be completed within eight (8) weeks.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for consideration, the contractor in his proposal must include the following:

i.          Evidence of incorporation or registration of business name;

ii.         Registration with the Kano State’s Works Registration Board in relevant category;

iii.        Company’s Audited Accounts for (3) years;

iv.        Evidence of Tax Clearance Certificate for (3) years:

v.         Evidence of financial capability and/or banking support

vi.        Experiences and technical qualification of key   in °

vii .      Record of previous project executed/performed;

viii.      Ability to transport the commodities;

ix.        Evidence of settlement of P.A.Y.E and other withholding taxes due to the State

x.         VAT. registration and evidence of past VAT remittances;

xi.        Local resource utilization;

xii.       Community and social responsibility support;

xiii.      Source of the commodities.

All prospective suppliers should submit 40 copies of their proposals in sealed envelope, addressed to:

The Honourable able Commissioner,

Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources,

Bida Road, Off  Post Office Road,

PM.B.3078, Kano State.

To reach the Ministry  on or before 11^th February, 2010.

The Special Ministerial Tenders Board would consider the proposals one week after the closure of the submission.

The Ministry  reserves the right to reject any proposal. It may also discontinue the tendering process and the potential Tender may not be entitled. In any claim in this regard. The Ministry shall not go into   correspondences   with   non-prequalified contractors in any form. The names of successful Tenderers would be fixed on the Notice Board of the Ministry located on Bidda Road, Off Post Office Road, Kano.
