PROCUREMENT OF GENERATING SET, SCIENCE EQUIPMENT AND CHEMICAL

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business, issue no. 591 of T* July, 2007.
2. The Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Science and Technology Education Post Basic Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the supply of Generating Sets, Science Equipment and Chemicals at Federal Government College, Ikom Cross River State. (IFB No. STEP B/FGC/IKOM/NCB/G/01/2009/NS/G/01/2009).
3. The Federal Government College Ikom, Cross River State now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for the procurement of the following:

4. Bidding will be conducted through the National Shopping Bidding (NCB), a procedure specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested and eligible bidders may purchase the bidding document on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of Ten thousand Naira (N10, 000.00) only or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency. Interested bidders may also obtain bidding document and further information at the same address by 11.00AM- 4,00PM on Monday to Friday, except on public holidays. The bidding documents should be collected by hand from the address below or can be forwarded to bidders by courier service on request.
6. Qualifications requirements include:
- Evidence of previous supply (sale) of similar Equipment proposed for the last 5 years.
- Audited Financial Statements for the last 3 years to demonstrate the financial capability of the Bidder in terms of Profitability and adequate working capital.
A margin of preference for eligible national contractors shall not be applied;

7. Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 days after Bid opening and must be accompanied by security of at least 2.5% of the Bid Price in a bank draft from a reputable Nigeria commercial bank, and shall be delivered to the Federal Government College Ikom, Science and Technology Education Post Basic Project, Cross River State, State, on or before 2.00pm on Monday 22nd. February, 2010, at which time they will be opened in the presence of the bidders or representatives who wish to attend, Electronic bidding will not be permitted Late bids will not be accepted.
8. Evaluation will be on Lot by Lot basis or combination of Lots. Award shall also be on Lot by Lot basis or combination of Lots. Bidders may bid for any one or more lots and discounts offered for the award of combined lots will be considered in bid evaluation.
