1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business; issue no HSDP/AF/GPN/09 of 24th March, 2009.

1. The Federal Government of Nigeria has received credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Abia State Health Systems Development Project II and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for Procurement of Civil Works, IFB No AB/HSDPII/AF/CW/NCB/03/2009

1. The Abia State Health Systems Development Project II now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for Procurement of Civil Works:

II		Construction of Perimeter fence and gate house for Ndume, Onuimo, Ahia-Orie, Azumini and Abala PHCs	90 days	2 ½ % of Bid Price

1. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines. May 2004 Edition revised October 1, 2006.

1. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Project Manager, Abia State Health Systems Development Project II, No. 1 Adelabu Street, Umuahia, e-mail: abhsdp2@yahoo.com , and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 0900-1800hrs.

1. Qualifications requirements include: as container m the SBDs. A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured domestically shall not be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.

1. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English Language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of N10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira Only). The method of payment will be Bank Draft or Certified Cheque. The Bidding Documents will be sent by courier on Request or Hand Collection on inclusion of a prepaid courier envelop/voucher.

1. Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 12th March, 2010. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders; who choose to attend in person or their representative at the below at 12.30pm.
