Construction and Rehabilitation of Roads at the Federal Ministry of Works, Housing and Urban Development

INVITATION FOR THE PRE-QUALIFICATION OF CIVIL ENGINEERING CONTRACTORS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION/REHABILITATION OF ROADS

IN THE FEDERAL HIGHWAYS NETWORK FOR 2010 FINANCIAL YEAR

The Federal Ministry of Works, Housing and Urban Development is desirous to undertake the Construction/Rehabilitation of the under-listed roads in the Federal Highways network for 2010 financial year.

1 Rehabilitation of Potiskum -Udubo -Gamawa-Camayin Road (R333) Section II (Udubo –Gamawa – Camayin Road) in Bauchi
2 Rehabilitation of Lafia-Obi-Awe-Tunga Road in Nasarawa State
3 Rehabilitation of Hadejia-Nguru Road in Jigawa State Phase II Kirikasama-Nguru
4 Rehabilitation of  Apapa – Oshodi    Expressway in Lagos
5 Rehabilitation    of   Bauchi   —   Dass   -   Tafawa Balewa Road
6 Construction of    Damasak  – Dutse (Nigeria) – Diffa (Niger Republic) Road
7 Rehabilitation of   Agwu       Ndiaboh  – Mpu -  Akaeze Road (40 KM)
8 Rehabilitation of Maiduguri – Dikwa – Gamboru Road, Section II Dikwa – Gamboru
9 Rehabilitation of Yana -Shira-Azare Road
10 Rehabilitation of Oshogbo – Ilesha Road in Osun State
11 Rehabilitation of Ajaokuta Bridge Across River Niger
12 Rehabilitation of Jebba Bridge

Pre-qualification are hereby invited from reputable contractors for the above road projects. For this reason the Ministry is inviting eligible Civil Engineering Contractors to be pre-qualified for the projects, Successful applicants shall meet the following minimum qualifying criteria for each projects,  as follows;

  1. i.            Annual turnover in construction works of at least N5,00.00 (for Construction Projects) and N1, 000,000,000,00 (for Rehabilitation Project) in the last three (3) years.
  2. ii.            Successful experience as a prime contractor on at least 1 project of a nature and complexity comparable to the works within the last three (3) years; and copies of letter/Certificates of to be attached; and
  3. iii.            Evidence that the Contractor has the requisite plant and equipment to execute a project of this nature and complexity comparable to these works.

3.         The pre-qualification document (2 copies) shall be signed, sealed in an envelope clearly marked “CONFIDENTILA” and bodly written “Prequalification for (Name of the Relevant Project)” and returned to:

So as to reach him  on or before 29th March., 2010. Each pre-qualification document must be submitted with photocopies of the following documents:

  1. i.            Company Registration Certificates;
  2. ii.            Current Tax Clearance Certificate and VAT Registration Certificate,
  3. iii.            Certified audited Company Accounts for the last 3 years (Original may be required
  4. iv.            for authentication);
  5. v.            List of CVs of key personnel to be deployed for the project
  6. vi.            All claims may be verified by the Ministry.
  1. Contractors who work/worked for the Ministry and have history of abandonment, termination and/ or prolonged contract period need not apply
  1. Criteria to be used for evaluation include but not limited to:
  2. i.            Turn over
  3. ii.            Equipment available for the project.
  4. iii.            Number of projects at hand
  5. iv.            Technical staff available for the project
  1. Submissions will be opened on 29th March, 2010 in the Conference Room of the Ministry at 10.00 am. Contractors or their representatives and the general public are all invites.

Only Pre-qualified Companies will be inv - tender
