Invitation for Bid No.: ADSHSDPII/NCBG/006

Credit No. 3653 – UNI

1. This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business, issue No. 608 of 16^th June 2003.

2. The Federal Government of Nigeria has received a credit from the International Development Association towards the cost of Adamawa State Health Systems Development Project II, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for procurement of the under listed items:

Bidders may bid for any one or two lots and discount offered for the award of combined lots will be considered in bid evaluation. Evaluation of bids shall be on lot-by –lot basis. Award of contract shall also be on lot basis.

3. The Adamawa State Health Systems Development Project II now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of Medical Equipment, Laboratory Chemicals & Reagents and Furniture.

4. Bidding will be conducted through the National competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.

5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Adamawa State Health Systems Development Project II No.35A Sir Kashim Ibrahaim Way Yola and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 10am to 3pm Mondays Fridays.

6. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of ten thousand naira only (N10,000.00). The method of payment will be cash or bank draft. Bidding document will be available from Monday 16^th March, 2009.

7. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 12.00 Noon Monday 13^th April 2009. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of at least 3% of the bid price or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below on Monday 13^th April, 2009 by 12.00 Noon..
