Invitation for Expression of d Interest (EOI) for the Supply of Bio-diesel from Jatropha Cacus Seeds for the World Bank/ECN/PHCN-PMU Bio-fuel for Rural Electrification Pilot Project “Igu Community of Bwari, FCT”.
Introduction:
The Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Power Holding Company, of Nigeria – Project Management Unit (PHCN-PMU) the World Bank and other stakeholders are collaborating on a bio-diesel for rural electrification project in Nigeria, The bio-diesel is to be sourced from the seeds of Jatropha Carcus plant.
The Energy Commission of Nigeria being the Focal Government Agency on renewable energy serves as the coordinating unit for the project on behalf of the stakeholders,
The objectives of the project are;
To increase energy access in peri- urban and rural communities,
To ensure the use of bio fuel in diversifying the energy supply mix of the country,
To stimulate economic growth for peri- urban and rural communities,
To alleviate poverty in peri-urban and rural communities; and
To develop social and economically viable business model
Igu community of Bwari Local Government Area of the FCT has been identified as a potential site and beneficiary of the pilot project.
Expression of Interests, for the supply of bio-diesel from Jatropha Carcus seeds, from qualified companies in Nigeria is hereby solicited.
Scope:
Bio-diesel from Jatropha Care us Seeds Supply;
Total requirement of 635,100 litres per annum
Supply to be made quarterly at 158,775 litres per quarter.
The bio-diesel should have properties as indicated in Table 1
The bio-diesel is to be supplied to a storage facility in Igu village of Bwari LGA, FCT, Abuja.

2. Evidence of previous supply made in the last five years
3. Evidence of Financial Capability or Banks support
4. Evidence of Tax payment for the last two years

Submission of Expression of Interest Document:
All expression of Interest document should be submitted in two hard copies addressed to:
The Director General/CEO, Energy Commission of Nigeria, Plot 701 c Central Business District, Behind National Mosque, Abuja, on or before 26th of May, 2009.
Opening of the Expression of Interest Document:
The expression of interest documents will be open at the presence of the company representatives on a date to be communicated to all, in due course.

PROCUREMENT OF LABORATORY EQUIPMENT, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY TEXT BOOKS
1. This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for the project that appeared in the Development Business issue No. 608 of 16th June 2,008.
2. The federal Government of Nigeria has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of Step-B Project and intend to apply part of the funds towards payments under contract for procurement of a laboratory equipment chemicals, science and technical text Books.
3. The Step-B Project FGGC Bajoga now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for procurement of laboratory equipment, chemical, science and technical text books, the procurement period is 30 Days from the Date of award of the contract.
4. The successful bidders are expected to bid for:
i. Chemical equipment and chemicals.
ii. Physical equipment and chemicals
iii. Catering crafts equipment Block laying and concreting equipment.
iv. Science text books
v. Technical text books Catering crafts text books
vi. Adjustable technical drawing table
vii. Magnetic chalk board
viii. Technical drawing text books
5. Bidding will be conducted through the national competitive bidding (NCB) procurement as specified in the World Bank Guide Lines Procurement under IBRD loan and IDA credit (current edition) and is opened to all eligible bidders as defined in the bidding document.

7. Qualification requirement include a copy of company profile containing details of personal and equipment supplied for the Last Five Years and the company must be duly in cooperated with appropriate body.
8. A complete sealed of bidding document may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address above and upon payment of non-refundable fee of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000:00)
9. Bids must be delivered to the above at or before 10:00am, 22nd March, 2009. All bids must be accompanied by a security of at least 3% of the bid amount. Late bids will be rejected.
10. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders representatives who choose to attend time 10:00am on 23rd March, 2009 at the address above.
