KANO STATE ROAD MAP FOR DEVELOPMENT
KANO STATE RICE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
INVITATION TO TENDER FOR THE REHABILITATION OF DAMS AND IRRIGATION SCHEMES
In its efforts to fully utilize its existing water resources for the economic development of the State through agriculture, the Kano State Government has concluded plans to rehabilitate all its existing dams and irrigation schemes as well as develop all potentially irrigable areas downstream of these dams for all year round crop production.
Accordingly, interested and competent civil engineering contractors are hereby invited to the following projects for immediate implementation:
1. Rehabilitation of Tamas dam and rehabilitation/expansion of Tomas irrigation scheme
This project is located in Makoda Local Government Area, about 50 Km along Kano Daura road. The scope of work includes:
Rehabilitation of the Tomas dam embankment including upstream/ downstream slope protection and desilting of reservoir
Rehabilitation of existing irrigation area of 200 hectares including rehabilitation of main canal, field and main drains
Expansion of the irrigation area by 700 hectares
2. Rehabilitation of Kafin Chiri dam
The project is located in Garko Local Government Area, about 30km from Wudil Town off Maiduguri Road. The project entails the rehabilitation of the dam embankment including upstream slopes protection, desilting of main reservoir and reconstruction of the dam spillway and related works.
3. Rehabilitation of watari Irrigation Project
This Project is located in Bagwei Local Government Area, 70km North- West of Kano Katsina road. The works involves the rehabilitation canals, drainages and road networks of the irrigation area as well as redeveloping of irrigation fields covering 700 hectares.

2. The Federal Government of Nigeria has received credit from the international Development Association toward the cost of Nasarawa State health Systems Development project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the Procurement of Equipment and furniture for Obstetrics care units at General Hospital, Wamba And Medical Center, Marraba-Gurku: and the Procurement of Library Equipment and furniture for the Library Complex at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Lafia.

4. Bidding will be conducted through the national competitive bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the world Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guideline.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Project Manager and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below on or before 30th September 2009 between 9am to 4pm Mondays to Fridays except on public holidays.

7. The Bidding Documents will be collected by bidders representative OR be sent by pre-paid courier upon written request by the bidder.
8. Bids must be delivered to the address below at on or before 10; 00am 12th November 2009. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bid will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person or on-line at the address below at 10:30am 12th November 2009. INVITATION FOR PREQUALIFICATION OF INTERESTED INVESTORS FOR THE EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) IN PROVISION OF INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT AT FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ESTATES UNDER THE MINISTRY’S PUBLIC/PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP INITIATIVE (PPP)
PREAMBLES:
The federal ministry of Works, Housing and urban Development intends to collaborate with private interested investors in the provision of infrastructural facilities in the federal Government Estates at the following locations:
i. Alokoto, Olodi, Apapa, Lagos State.
ii. Ugbolu, Asaba, Delta State
iii. Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
iv. New Karu, Nassarawa State
The Ministry of Works, Housing and Urban Development hereby invites interested reputable investors for expression of interest (EOI) in partnering with the Ministry for the Provision of infrastructural facilities at the above listed locations under public/private (PPP) initiatives.
PRE-QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR INVESTORS
Expression of interest (EOI) from prospective investors should contain the following information as the basis for consideration
a. Certificate of the Company’s Registration/Incorporation with the Corporate affairs Commission (CAC)
b. Tax Clearance Certificate for the last three years (3) years (2007, 2008, 2009)
c. Evidence of relevance experience in Estate development, including the provision of infrastructural facilities (roads, drainage, electricity, water, sewage, etc.)
d. Evidence of technical and managerial capabilities of the Investor
e. Registration with relevant professional bodies
f. Letter from investor’s banker stating its financial capacity to undertake the works if considered.
g. Evidence of administrative and financial strengths
h. Proof of alliances/partnership in similar works
i. Evidence of Audited Account for the Last three years
SUBMISSION OF EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR INVESTORS
Interested investors should submit their applications for Expression of Interest (EOI) in a sealed envelope clearly marked;
