The Yakubu Gowon Center for National Unity and International Cooperation is an NGO that has been working in the past 16 years to build a strong and United Nigeria. Its activities include management of international grants for health Interventions.

The Center seeks immediate employment of the potion below to be based in the following 18 states and FCT: Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, Benue, Plateau, Kogi, Edo, Delta, Imo, Cross River, Ebonyi, Abia, Ondo, Osun and Oyo.

STATE LOGISTICS OFFICER:

Job Description:

• Provide technical support to the States, LGA, and Health Facilities in procurement and supply chain management activities
• Facilitate all activities concerned with quantification, storage, and distribution of anti malaria medicines and commodities in the state.
• Ensure commodity security of all anti-malaria medicines and commodities in the programme through regular tracking.
• Generate accurate inventory data for forecasting and procurement of commodities.
• Promote timely accessibility of safe and effective anti malaria medicines and commodities at all levels of health care delivery in the state, thus ensuring no stock out of anti malaria medicines and other commodities in all the health facilities concerned.
• Promote good storage practices and reduction of medicines commodities expiration to zero level.
• Facilitate the planning, collation, interpretation and analysis of LMIS data.
• Train relevant state, LGA’s and Health facilities and Officers in Inventory Management, Supply Chain management, LMIS, and commodity Security.
• Conducts regular supportive supervisory/verification visits to LGA’s and Health facilities in the state on anti-malaria commodities handling, good inventory management and logistics data.
• Attend State monthly RBM meetings where distribution plan for commodities’ supply is developed in conjunction with state RBM manager, LGA malaria focal person, state pharmacists and YGC sub recipient/contractors in the state.
• Contribute to budget preparations for procurement and distribution tracking of anti malaria medicines and commodities

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE

• A good degree in Pharmacy, Business Admin, other Health related discipline or HND in Purchasing and Supply Management with at least 3 years post NYSC working experience in Health Programme Management Preferably in an NGO environment.
• Good team work, Inventory management and I.T skills required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Must be result driven and be ready to travel to project sites in health centers
