PMTCT/HCT Advisor: KANO
SPECIFIED RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical leadership for the project’s PMTCT/HCT services in kano state
- Participate in needs assessments with other Project Staff, NASCP, SACA & State authorities to determine which secondary and primary health facilities will receive project scales up and capacity building for PMTC/HCT services
- Contribute to State’s Capacity Building Plans and their implementation
- Train and supervise the State and facility staff in PMTCT/HCT services
- Participate in selection of state’s consultants
- Work and liaise closely with associations of persons living with HIV to recruit women peer support coordinators at PMTCT sites. Provide technical leadership in VCT and interpersonal prevention communication
- Work closely with the facility staff and local NGO partners to identify sites for outreaches and need for mobile VCT interpersonal prevention communication service
- Documents programmatic results and achievement for the project in the state
KEY QUALIFICATION
- A medical Doctor or a Nurse or any other closely related health care professional
- Significant experience in HIV/AIDS Programmes with a focus on PMTCT/HCT in resources power setting like Nigerians
- Experience managing and supervising technical/facility staff
- Experience with HIV/AIDS programmes supported bi lateral agencies such as USAID and international agencies such as WHO and World Bank preferred, particularly those related to Voluntary Counseling and Testing, prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission, and care and treatment projects
- Extensive experience in reproductive health care services and ability to multi task
- 3-5 years experience in HIV PMTCT/HCT projects
Excellent oral and written communications skills and fluency in English and ability to speak Hausa Language will be an added advantage
