We are a leading international non-governmental organization working in the area of HIV and AIDS care and treatment. We require the services of resourceful, experienced and dynamic candidates to fill the post of:

 Internal Audit/ Compliance Manager,

 Responsibilities

The Internal Audit/ Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization is in full compliance with all standards of operating Procedures, and donor rules and regulations. The incumbent will also assess the various functions and control systems in the organization and provide appropriate guidance to implementation of policies and procedures, Specific responsibilities include:

 

  • Appraising the effectiveness and application of financial and administrative controls and reliability of same
  • Evaluating sufficiency of and adherence to plans, policies and procedures and compliance with governmental laws and regulations
  • Ascertaining the adequacy of controls for safeguarding assets and when appropriate, verifying the existence of assets
  • Performing special reviews and investigations as requested from time to time
  • Conducting appraisal of effectiveness and efficiency in the use of resources and making appropriate recommendations to management
  • Co-coordinating audit planning and scheduling activities with management and liaising with external auditors
  • Ensure that procurement procedures described in the SOP’s are properly followed
  • Facilitate quarterly internal audits and annual external audits to ensure that project accounting pass donor mandated financial audits at all times
  • Review relationship with banks/other statutory bodies & ensure compliance with applicable laws.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum of 10 years experience with at least 5 at senior Management level
  • Experience in compliance management preferably in US government funded program
  • Membership of professional accounting  body such as , or
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to pay attention to details
  • Ability to exercise judgment and direction in sensitive and confidential financial and organizational matters
  • An excellent team player

 General Requirement

This position require candidate that are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Internet/Emails

Significant amounts of travel required for this position
