Since 1971, Family Heath International (FHI) has been at the forefront of public health research and intervention programs in the developing countries. In collaboration with national governments, local communities and leading research institutions, FHI delivers services and conducts research in HIV/AIDS, other infectious diseases and reproductive health to improve the lives and well-being of some of the world’s most vulnerable populations. In Nigeria, FHI is engaged in providing public health services and implementing programs in HIV/AIDS, TB, reproductive health, malaria, and health systems strengthening in partnership with the Government of Nigeria. To strengthen our operations in the country, we are seeking qualified candidates for the position below:
Graphics Designer (Department of Communications & Knowledge Management)
Location: Country Office Abuja
The Graphic Designer under the supervision of the AD Technical Documentation, will be responsible tot designing, producing and maintaining various organizational websites and contributing to the overall web communications strategy and special projects. S/he will develop visual concepts and designs that reflect business and creative requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Design/create graphics to meet specific promotional needs such as packaging displays or logos
- Create visual concepts that match the programs and image of the organization
- Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and select style and size
- Study illustrations and photographs to plan presentation of materials products or services
- Draw and print charts graphs, illustrations other artwork using the computer
- Develop negatives and prints to produce layout photographs using negative and print developing equipment and tools
- Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed At least 5 years
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, publishing, or other discipline related to the primary responsibilities
- Minimum of 5 years experience with 2 years experience in web design, and a minimum of one years experience in producing standards-compliant cross browser website using Adobe C54 web Premium software
- A master degree with 3 years experience will be considered
- Experience working in a communications/public relations environment will be an advantage
