TechnoServe’s Regional Office for West Southern Africa seeks a Business Advisor for its West African Cocoa Livelihoods Project
Reporting to: Project Manager Cocoa (Team Leader)
Location: CPL office in Akure, Nigeria
Responsibilities
- Manage implementation, coordination and evaluation of all activities related to Technoserve’s work on Cocoa in Nigeria
- Communicate and coordinate with all stakeholders in Nigeria, including WCF, industry, project partners (e.g., STCP and Socodevi), implementing partner (input suppliers, banks, service providers etc) and government
- Represent TechnoServe at CLP meetings
- Support the development of the Nigeria annual project work plan
- Provide periodic progress reports to Nigeria’s country facilitator’
- Recruit and collaborate with short-term consultants and Volunteer Consultants in Nigeria
Qualification
- Advanced degree in business, economic, agriculture or related field, excellent academic record
- At least 5 years of experience in agriculture value chains, rural development and/or rural finance, of which at least five should be in a developing and/or rural finance, of which at least five should be in a developing country
- Broad expertise in cocoa
- Highly financially and computer literate and be adept at working with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent people and project management skills
- Significant interpersonal and communication skills, especially in multicultural and multi-ethnic context
- Adept at developing and sustaining high-level relationships
- Strong analytical skills and strategic capacities
- Inspiring leader and networker
- Strong team player and consensus builder
- Fluent in English and knowledgeable in French
