SuNMap is  DFID-funded five year programme to support the National Malaria control programme. It currently operates in six states, namely: Awka, Kano, Katsina, Lagos, Niger and Ogun with headquarters in Abuja. This #50m programme is managed by a consortium of three international organizations. Malaria Consortium UK, Health Partners International and GRID Consulting Ltd. It is personnel as well as other international and national partners.

The objective of SuNMap is to strengthen the delivery of the Nigeria’s National malaria control effort by providing technical support to improve the capacity of Malaria Control Programme at all levels. In doing this, the programme is working with stakeholders in the health and sector (public and non-public) as well as civil societies and partners from the commercial sector.

The programme has been in operation for two years and is now looking  to fill the position across its operating  location

Senior Health Systems Expert

 Location:  Abuja

This position will assist the Public Health specialist in providing technical support to malaria control efforts with focus on strengthening health systems intervention both at the Federal and State levels. She/he will  be involved in development of capacity building roll-out plans to be implemented across levels in the country. The job holder will oversee the consultancy inputs to programme activities on the preventive and curative components of malaria control

Qualification

• A degree in medical sciences with strong expertise and prior experience  in the management of health system services
• S/he must have at least 10 years experience in program management with hands-on experience in capacity building for public health workers
• An extensive knowledge of practices in Nigeria public health sector is required with a basic understanding malaria control strategies and its approaches
• Excellent computer skills as well as strong presentation and writing skills are very essential.

 Terms of Appointment

The appointment term will be a period of 3 years for each position, with an initial 6 months probationary period. The programme offers very competitive salary packages. Local terms and conditions will apply.
