QUALITY ASSURANCE/CLINICAL SERVICES ADVISOR at Jhpiego

Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University and a global leader in improving healthcare for women and families, seeks suitable candidates for the position below:

Title:              QUALITY ASSURANCE/CLINICAL SERVICES ADVISOR

Reports to:    Chief of Party

Location:       , Nigeria

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Chief of Party to ensure that measurable outcomes of a large U.S. Government-funded HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment program are in alignment with PEPFAR and Government of Nigeria goals.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for JHPIEGO in the areas of quality HIV/AIDS services, especially prevention of mother to child transmission interventions.
  • Develop and conduct technical assistance and oversee QA Interventions, and monitor and maintain the technical quality of activities and products in all aspect of the project work as it relates to HIV testing, CD4 testing, EID and issue of ARVs in agreement with national and international standards
  • Identification of opportunities for improving the quality and performance of health workers and facilities
  • Write, co-author and otherwise support the documentation of projects results in conference and publications
  • Participate in staffing assessments and analyses in order to better understand needs and realities
  • Oversee, conduct, or participate in performance needs assessments
  • As a part of setting desired performance and during project planning, work with M&E staff to develop indicators and M&E plans which feed data to a comprehensive HR information system

Required Qualifications

  • Medical doctor, nurse, or equivalent health profession or professional with specialization in health (e.g. , or other relevant degrees)
  • Minimum of five years experience in the area of quality and performance improvement with support approaches and methodologies in RH, HIV/AIDS and /or other technical areas
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working for a health organization, in or close to service delivery activities
  • Demonstrate capability to establish quality assurance programs for HIV/AIDS
  • Minimum of five years experience in a senior position providing technical assistance/training to health facility clinical staff, institutions, or NGOs in HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care
  • Familiarity with the MOH structure, functions and leadership
  • Documented experience designing and implementing health programs for improving services delivery
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentations skills
