Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Location: Kano, Sokoto and Taraba Zones
The Zonal Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, under the supervision of the Zonal Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and Zonal Manager, and with technical oversight from the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, will be responsible for implementing monitoring and evaluation activities within the zonal office.
Specific Job Responsibilities
- Work with other staff in the zonal office and local implementing partners to ensure that zonal monitoring and evaluation activities are carried out effectively in accordance with donor and project M&E needs
- Work with local partners to support correct implementation and use of monitoring and evaluation tools, and adherence to complete, correct and timely reporting
- Conduct routine monitoring visits to project sites, including the conduct of data quality assessments (DQAs) using official tools
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reports and provide supportive supervision
- Provide direct technical assistance and capacity building in the design and implementation of the program/project monitoring and enhanced evaluation components of the activities in the communities served
- On a monthly basis, analyze state-level data and provide reports to the state offices, national office and local partners
- Participate in project assessments, evaluations and design when requested
- Represent FHI and make presentations at professional meetings and conferences related to monitoring and evaluation activities
Minimum Requirements
- Candidate must possess MBBS/MD and MPH or similar degree with 1-3 years experience in monitoring and evaluation in reproductive health or HIV/AIDS programs in developing countries
- Experience working with local partners, including NGOs and CBOs, and knowledge of the local context
- Familiarity with USAID programs is preferred
