Christian Health Association of Nigeria (CHAN)’s Nigeria indigenous capacity Building (NICaB) Project, is advertising for short term position:

The NICaB project made possible by the American people through the president’s Programme for Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief and the us Agency for International Development (USAID) is implemented by CHAN in partnership with Management Sciences for Health (MSH). NICAB expands comprehensive HIV and TB programs in six states across Nigeria and builds the capacity of collaborating faith-based health facilities and community based organizations to respond to the HIV epidemic.

The Hospital coordinator will be responsible for facilitating the day-to-day facility-based activities of the project at the district level, with an emphasis on HIV/AIDS and TB testing, counseling, treatment, care and support within the MI hospital and the NICAB “network” in that area (health centers, communities, support groups etc). she /he will facilitate the work being done by doctors, clinical officers, nurses, and laboratory workers and hospital managers and board to ensure that people and patients needing HIV/AIDS TS and related services in different department of the above mentioned faculties promptly receive  quality care and referrals that they may need. He/she will be a member of the ART management team at the MI and will ensure adequate universal precaution practices and effective functioning of the PEP system

Qualifications:

  1. degree (MB, BS or equivalent), master’s degree in or other training will be an added advantage.
  2. NYSC Certificate
  3. Full registration with the Nigeria in Dental Council
  4. Current Annual Practicing License
  5. Must have 2 years of working experience in HIV/AIDS Program
  6. Professional with local background and/or familiarity with the communities served by the centre to be served is preferred.
  7. Knowledge and experience with management and community-based health care programs will be added advantage but is not essential.
  8. Ability to speak and write coherently and effectively in English.
  9. Basic computer ability, including competence in word processing and spreadsheets.
  10. Ability to travel to districts and rural areas on a regular basis as well as to other states when necessary.

NOTE:

There are no relocation allowances available for this position and the estimated period of performance for this position is 9 months, depending on availability of funds.
