A National health maintenance organization (HMO) wants the vacancy position below:
Head, Medical Service:
Reporting to the Managing Director the successful candidates will be responsible for providing professional guidance on the development of managed health care products with appropriate incentive to ensure maximum utilization by the target population: The job holder will also be responsible for the development and implementation of Quality Improvement Programme aimed at continuous assessment and improvement of quality clinical care and services to members.
Qualifications:
- A good first degree or its equivalent from a reputable University in Medicine, Sciences,
- Higher degree(s)/qualification (s), e.g. M.Sc. MBA, will be an added advantage
- Professional Qualifications in Medicine, Public Hearth, etc will be an added advantage
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- High level of professional and managerial competence required in directing and controlling activities
- In depth knowledge of medicine and paramedical procedures
- Good knowledge of running a medical practice (HCP)
- Good knowledge and understanding of the NHIS guidelines and operations of HMOs and HCPs.
- Ability to carry out cost/benefit analysis of high-tech medical systems processes and procedures
- Ability to determine the fairness or otherwise of fees charged for services of HCPs
- Leadership and administrative skills in running a multi-disciplinary medical department
- Ability to implement administrative policies and procedures compliance, enforcement and monitoring
- Strong communication, leadership, planning and organization and negotiation skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency in the use of computer
Experience and Age Limit:
- Minimum of 12 years post-qualification cognate experience, 5 of which must be at senior management position
- Candidate should not be above 45 years of Age
