Director Planning Research and Statistics at NPHCDA

Our client is the NPHCDA, established in 1992 as a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Health, to provide leadership that supports the promotion and implementation of high quality and sustainable Primary Health Care (PHC) services in Nigeria. In 2007, NPHCDA was merged with the National Programme on Immunisation (NPI), as part of the Federal Government’s drive to strengthen the Agency’s leadership and ensure the integrated delivery of PHC services.

As part of the ongoing effort to reposition the Agency in line w.th Health Agenda 2009, and the recent public service reforms, some senior-level vacanc.es have been created. We are looking for driven, innovative, competent an; proven health sector leaders, managers and team players who have excelled in their field and wish to make a difference by improving health outcomes for our people and achieve the health-related MDGs.

 

 

We are calling for applications from suitably qualified internal and external candidates to fill this position within the Agency as approved by its Governing Board:

Director Planning Research and Statistics (PRS) – gl 17

  • The successful candidate will lead the Department of Planning Research and Statistics, whose role will be to develop sound and strategic plans for the Agency in will accordance with its mandates as well as the national health policy and priorities. The role will also provide support for aligning Federal efforts with State and Local Government efforts through appropriate guidelines and standards

 

  • The ideal candidate will provide expert leadership for PHC Strategic Planning and the implementation of a PHC relevant agenda by the Agency in collaboration with other health stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have proven planning and skills, hands-on-experience with various methodologies for data analysis, monitoring and evaluation of health sector programmes as well as donor coordination.

 

  • He/she should possess a relevant first degree in the or social sciences, plus a post graduate degree in Planning, Public Health, Epidemiology or Statistics or other related discipline.

 

Additional Criteria

Interested candidates must ensure they meet the following additional criteria to be considered suitable for employment into these roles:

  • Must be Nigerian citizens as defined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
  • Possess a certificate indicating their State of Origin and Local Government Area
  • Within the age limits for engagement into public service.
  • Submit references and pass independent reference checks
