Our client is the NPHCDA, established in 1992 as a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Health, to provide leadership that supports the promotion and implementation of high quality and sustainable Primary Health Care (PHC) services in Nigeria. In 2007, NPHCDA was merged with the National Programme on Immunisation (NPI), as part of the Federal Government’s drive to strengthen the Agency’s leadership and ensure the integrated delivery of PHC services.
As part of the ongoing effort to reposition the Agency in line w.th Health Agenda 2009, and the recent public service reforms, some senior-level vacanc.es have been created. We are looking for driven, innovative, competent an; proven health sector leaders, managers and team players who have excelled in their field and wish to make a difference by improving health outcomes for our people and achieve the health-related MDGs.
We are calling for applications from suitably qualified internal and external candidates to fill this position within the Agency as approved by its Governing Board:
DIRECTOR DISEASE CONTROL AND IMMUNISATION- GL-17
The successful candidate will:
- Lead the Department of Disease Control and immunisation to support the national policy and drive the national Immunization and disease control program by working effectively with States and Local Governments. This would include the formulation, execution and review of the national Immunisation policy and programmes in collaboration with technical and development partners, for the effective control of vaccine preventable diseases in line wan the Agency’s mandate.
- The ideal candidate will have excellent organization and management skills and proven experience in the area of immunization and prevention and control of epidemic within the context of PHC development or its equivalent)
- He/she must have post-graduate degree in a health-related discipline (at a minimum MPH or its equivalent).
- Fellowship/membership of relevant Post graduate College will be an added advantage
