In Nigeria, FHI is engaged in providing public health services and implementing programs in HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria, reproductive health, and health systems strengthening in partnership with the Government of Nigeria. Job Responsibilities
v Coordinate and provide technical assistance for implementation of the LGA model of HIV/AIDS, STI and TB care activities at the LGA and state levels
v Strengthen community involvement and participation in HMAIDS, STI and TB care through engagement of LGA health authorities, community traditional and religious leaders, and other community gatekeepers
v Work to facilitate the transfer of appropriate skill to community health workers at the PHC, community volunteers, TBAs and PLWH and their families for HIV/AIDS, STI and TB prevention, care and support
v Work directly with implementing partners (community-based organizations), LGA PHC coordinator LGA TB supervisors, LACA coordinators, and PHC personnel to facilitate the implementation of high quality HIV/AIDS, STI and TB care activities within the LGA
v Work closely with the other staff of the GHAIN Medical Services Department to ensure synergy relevant to the Implementation and documentation of the LGA component of the state program
v Work closely with the State TB Control Program, SACA and other organizations as may be relevant to the LGA model protect
v Ensure close collaboration with other PHC and disease control programs within the LGA
v Remain informed on current programs in the field of HIV/AIDS STI and TB and related development field by reviewing current literature and stay alert to any implication of such experience and research for departmental activities
v Perform other care, prevention and evaluation duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
v MBBS with experience in community health practice
v Postgraduate degree in public health
v Minimum of 3 years experience in care and support for HIV/AIDS, STI and tuberculosis at the primary health facility or at the community level
v Sound understanding of the district health systems, LGA, TB technical areas, experience with ART programs and familiarity with Nigerian public sector health system, NGOs and CBOs
