LMS-ACT is an MSH-implemented project in Nigeria that aims the supporting State Ministries of Health and State Action Committees on AIDS (SACA) to deliver Comprehensive HIV/AIDS/TB services including providing anti-retroviral therapy for the hundreds of thousands of people that need in Nigeria.
Community Care Advisor
Location: Abuja.
The objective of Community Care Advisor position is to provide technical leadership on AIDS Community Care including OVC services for the LMS-ACT project in a manner that strengthens community leadership and development systems and create linkages and synergy between community-based and clinical facility-based services.
Responsibilities
- Spearheading the strategic design and implementation of Community Care Services including OVC services provided under the LMS-ACT project in Nigeria.
- Take lead in the development of community AIDS and TB Care services including OVC service.
- Develop and implement strategy for including capacity of state governments and partner to train, supervise and establish quality Community Care and OVC services delivery.
- Monitor and provide technical leadership and support to the state Community Care Specialists and related staff.
- Actively engage the Federal Ministries of Health and Women and Social Affairs, NACA, CSOs and other IPs to identify gaps in policy and practice and package evidence to inform policy and practice.
- Work with LMS-ACT management to document and publish test practices.
Specific Qualification and/or Experience
- Post graduate degree in Social Work or public health field
- Minimum of 5 years senior level programs experience with HIV/AIDS programs supported by bilateral agencies such as USAID. particularly those related to home-based Care, prevention with positive (PwP), orphans and vulnerable children
- Grants management experience an added advantage
- Excellent oral and writing communication skills and fluency in English.
