Since 1971. Family Heath International (FHI) has been at the forefront of public health research and intervention programs in the developing countries. In collaboration with the national governments, local communities and leading research institutions, FHI delivers services and conducts research in HIV/AIDS, other infectious disease and reproductive health to improve the lives and well-being of some of the world’s most vulnerable populations. In Nigeria, FHI is engaged in providing public health services and implementing programs in HIV/AIDS, TB, reproductive health, malaria, and health systems strengthening in partnership with the Government of Nigeria. To strengthen our operations in the country, we are seeking qualified candidates for the position below:
Position Title: Assistant Voluntary Counseling and Testing Officer

With the Zonal Counseling and Testing/PMTCT Officer, the Assistant Voluntary Counseling and Testing Officer will assist in coordinating and providing technical assistances for all counseling and testing (ICT) support activities as part of the programe in the zone.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to implement high quality services activities with primary focus on CT
- With the Zonal Counseling and Testing/PMTCT officer, provide technical leadership and support related to CT strategies and approaches related to program implementation
- With the Zonal Medical Services Advisors and zonal Counseling and Testing/PMTCT officer, coordinate the design and implementation of components related to CT in Field-level projects and programs
- Provide technical assistance on CT in the design, implementation and evaluation of local and zonal-level activities
- Provide technical support to builds the capacity of local implementing agencies and national counterparts
- Work with NGOs and staff to facilitate the transfer of skills to people living with HIV and their families for prevention, support and care
- Represent FHI Nigeria to donors and government officials on CT issues at the zonal level
- Assist in the application of program evaluation results
- Remain Informed on current programs in the field of CT and related development field by reviewing current literature and stay alert to any implication of such experience and research for departmental activities
Minimum Requirements
- A registered nurse with ability to manage CT activities in a large, complex, health-related project
- Minimum of two years working experience in CT activities
- Familiarity with the Nigerian public sector health system, NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable
