STATE PROGRAMME MANAGERS at (SAVI)

The State Accountability and Voice Initiative (SAVI) is a new programme, financed by the Department of international Development (DFID). SAVI will work with civil society, State Houses of Assembly and the media to promote democratic participation and government accountability. SAVI works in close partnership with other DFID programmes on Policy Advocacy, Accountability and Voice in Governance initiatives which focus on enhancing government systems, health and education (SPARC, PATHS2 and ESPINN). Initially SAVI has offices in: Lagos, Kaduna, Enugu and Kano Kano and as well as a Head Office in Abuja. The Programme is looking to recruit candidates to fill the position below.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a clear vision for SAVI In the state, and document this in the strategy document and SAVI state log frame, coherent with programme log frame
  • Develop and Maintain Strategic relationships with DFID & Senior Officers and with other DFID in the State
  • Lead the State SAVI Team to undertake civil society and political analysis in the State in collaboration with SAVI partners
  • Make and build strategic relations with key Civil Society Organizations (CSO) State House of Assembly and the media
  • Coordinate with other donor programmes in the State to achieve agreed common outcomes.
  • Keep an oversight of the   delivery of advocacy projects and technical support to grant funded projects
  • Have full management responsibilities for the delivery and monitoring of the SAVI
  • Programme Objectives for the State, associated knowledge management and dissemination of Lessons Learnt.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

  • Recognized Post Graduate qualification in a relevant discipline
  • 10 years relevant: experience, including work with CSO, CBOs, coalitions and networks and their interface with Government MDAs.
  • A team player who is able to coordinate various streams of work to achieve agreed goals.
  • Skilled in report writing, good written and oral English, as well as fluency in the document local language (Hausa), facilitation, communication and presentation skills
  • Be knowledgeable in local Politics, Religion and Customs of the State.
  • Have experience in public speaking and can facilitate forums.
  • Computer literate, conversant with MS Excel, Word, Power-point and the internet Valid Nigerian driving license.
