Yorkshire Insurance of UK came to Nigeria in 1953 through an Agent. It had the record of the 1^st Company to grant cover on lives of Nigerians on the same terms as the Europeans. It opened a full-fledged office in Lagos in 1962. Yorkshire was acquired by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 1974 and renamed Niger Insurance. Today Niger is a leading Composite Underwriter in Nigeria: It became quoted on the Nigeria Stock Exchange in 1990. The Federal Government divested her shares in 2002 through the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE). Senior Manager (Technical) North: KANO

The Person

a)      1^st Degree or Diploma in Insurance

b)      Post-Graduation degree in Business or Finance

c)      Deep familiarity with all the states of the Northern Nigeria

d)     Professional qualifications in Insurance

e)      Minimum of 10 years experience in underwriting and claims

Responsibilities

• Underwriting of all classes of Insurance
• Coordinating the claims and Reinsurance activities of the region
• Preparing Technical Operations Report for the Regional Coordinator
• Meeting the service target of the Company
