Function:
The Operations Manager shall monitor and coordinate TSL Transport and Logistics overall operations, ensure timely accomplishments to targets withing the time and cost parameters, and meet deliveries and depot requirements.
Responsibilities:
Managing overall revenue growth and profitability while monitoring operating expenses.
Handling Business and Market development. Asset Management, Customer Retention and Customer Relationship Management.
Carrying out Industry analysis, Market trends and Competitor analysis.
Responsible for On-Time /in-Full deliveries for all deliveries made for the Company’s clients.
Efficiently managing the entire operations and maintaining quality.
Assist in creating, operating and executing policies, procedures and guidelines
Responsible for preparing RFPs. Tenders, attending negotiations and executing contracts with various customers from time to time.
Responsible for planning vehicle utilisation, scheduling and monitoring of consignments while ensuring timely deliverse.
Formulating short term/long term budgets and developing business plans for achievements of goals.
Designing and effectively managing the supply chain, ensuring timely and cost effective deliveries.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills /Competences:
A good first degree from a reputable university.
Extensive experience in setting up and managing business operations of a big trucking Company or a
larger fleet of a logistics or manufacturing company (Multimodal logistics experience an added advantage
Must have the necessary understanding of critical business drivers in multiple markets and industries
Must have the ability to build relationships with upper level decision makers and business partners
Good logistics and fleet management orientation. Good verbal and written skills, detail oriented excellent interpersonal skills.
A skilled communicator with honed people management analytical and coordination skills.
Full proficiency with MS-Office with special focus on Excel, Power Point, Project, word and Access 2003.
An ability to transform strategy into results, good understanding of business needs and the ability to priorities and manage multiple tasks.
