Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Associate Protection Officer, the incumbent performs the following duties:
- Assists in dealing with individual cases or groups of refugees through interviews, correspondence etc. and handles cases by taking the necessary step with the local authorities
- Assists in assessing determination of refugee status, granting of asylum, prevention of refoulement or expulsion issuance of identity cards and travel documentation;
- Assesses internal social and economic rights of refugees;
- Maintains close contacts with local authorities and NGO’s;
- Keeps abreast of developments In the field of jurisprudence, legislation and regulations Undertakes other duties as required.
Qualities and Qualification
Education and Skills:
(a) University Degree
(b) Discipline: Law International Law, Political Science, or other related field.
Experience:
- Two years experience relevant to the function.
Language: Good knowledge of English language and other working languages of the Organisation.
