Federal Government of Nigeria has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) for Implementing the Community and Social Development Project in Nigeria. Part of this credit is to be applied where eligible to the payment for the services of various staff of the Implementing agencies. In the pursuance therewith the Abia State Agency for Community and Social Development Project (ABIA-CSDP) is now inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for recruitment into the position below:

Internal Auditor

Responsibilities:

He shall perform internal oversight functions so that all activities involving the commitment of financial resources comply with all accounting systems and reporting procedures as stipulated in the provisions of CSDP’s Financial Management Manual, some specific functions are as follows:

• Shall be responsible to the General Manager;
• Develop and monitor the Implementation of annual plans of SA;
• Liaise with the Finance and Administration Manager to ensure that audit (Internal and external) recommendations are complied with;
• Conduct financial audit of community usage of funds disbursed for community Projects by the SA
• Works closely with the operations department in recommending payment of second and third tranches to community projects.
• Ensure that safeguard procedures for the prevention of fraud are adequate;
• Submit to the General Manager monthly, quarterly and annual audit reports of S A activities
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the General Manager

Qualifications:

• At least a first degree/HND In Accounting, or HD Public Accounting and Auditing or Banking and, Finance and membership of a recognized professionally approved body (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA, ANAN etc), with at least five years relevant post qualification in private or public sector auditing. Experience In a donor-funded rural development project audit will be an added advantage.

Remuneration

All the advertised posts attract attractive remuneration commensurate with the modes of entry and in accordance with agreed terms with the World Bank.
