We are a leading international non-governmental organization working in the area of HIV and AIDS care and treatment. We require the services of resourceful, experienced and dynamic candidates to fill the post of:

Director of Finance

Location: Abuja

Under the supervision of the Country Director, s/he manages budget and finances of the organization and ensures effective administration of head quarter office in Abuja. Candidate will be responsible for day to day  oversight of the financial functions of the office in Abuja, Nigeria and the Regional/State offices

Responsibilities

Grant and Budget Management: Establish and manage appropriate financial processes and systems required to deal with project financial management issues

Compliance: Ensure compliance with CDC and other donor procedures and regulations in implementation of all project activities

Financial reporting: Manage relationship with Headquarters and ensure appropriate financial reporting requirements are accurately completed in a timely manner, Work with other key headquarters staff to refine and adapt guidelines for local office procedures.

Staff Supervision: Provide effective leadership and monitoring for the finance team; assign and distribute fiscal responsibilities, in conclusion with the Country Director, to the sub contract Manager, Finance Manager and the other Finance staff.

Capacity Building: Provide technical assistance to finance teams at subcontracted site to enhance their capacity to manage their sub-agreements; assist with budgets and establishment of internal auditing systems for sub-contractees; and assist with financial monitoring of sub-agreements to treatment sites

Relationship Management: Establish and maintain a good working relationship with banker(s), ensure that banking activities are processed in a timely and professional manner, and ensure that the bank is providing all necessary services to the project at competitive prices.

Qualifications

• Membership of a globally recognized professional accounting body and an MBA or advanced degree in accounting business or a related field is strongly preferred
• Should have minimum of 10 years experience with at least 5 of these in a senior level management position in the international development sector
• Experience managing large US government funded projects (CDC, USAID and extensive knowledge of USG regulations and procedures
• Fluency in speaking, reading and writing English
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational prioritization, supervisory and management skills
• Strong computer spreadsheet and word processing skills
• Strong knowledge of Quick Books accounting software package
• Maintains a professional approach with confidentiality
• Exhibits a positive  and professional demeanor in and outside of the workplace that exemplifies and further the mission, vision and values of the program
• Possess strong skills in analyzing and interpreting financial data
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with staff implementing and cooperating partners, and relevant NGOs and government agencies
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to be able to accept and discharge substantial responsibilities, to meet deadlines, and to exercise professional judgment
• An excellent team player

General Requirement

This position require candidate that are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Internet/Emails

Significant amounts of travel required for this position
