BURSAR (CONTISS 15)
The Bursar is the Chief Finance Officer of the University. He is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University. By virtue of his position the Bursar should be able to provide the Management of the University with appropriate advice and suppot for all of the institution’s financial transactions.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
The candidate must possess the following:
- A good honours degree or equivalent in Accountancy or related discipline from a recognized university as well as professionally-recognised Accountancy qualification of ACA, ACMA, ACCA, CNA from any of the following bodies:
- Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria
- Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales
- Institute of Cost & Management Accountants
- Institute of Certified Public Accountants
- Association of national Accountants of Nigeria
- The possession of any relevant postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
- Applicants must also be computer literate and have a working knowledge of a good accounting package.
- The candidate should have a minimum of fifteen (15) years post-graduation cognate experience in a University or comparative institution where he/she must have served at the level of Deputy Bursar for not less than five years.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
The appointment in each each shall be for a period of five (5 nos.) years and may be renewed for a further period of five years and no more. Other fringe benefits and allowances are as currently applicable to the position in other Federal Universities as prescribed by the Federal Government of Nigeria and as determined from time to time by the Governing Council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University
