MANAGING DIRECTOR- (MTI/MP/01/09) – ABUJA
Job Role
This job role is principally accountable for overall operational performance through efficient use and management of resources towards achievement of corporate goals and targets; coordinating growth and expansion programmes, effective performance/management of people, achieving desired corporate culture and managing business risks in a timely manner.
The Person
· Must have outstanding background in the Power/Energy sector of the economy
· Must possess a strong business development and project financing skills
· Adequate knowledge of the power industry and current trends in the market
· Possession of strategy & Organizational management skills
· Must possess general management skills (including leadership assertiveness, integrity, personnel/team development, communication)
· Financial analysis, budgeting, cost management
· Business analysis and risk management
· Resource management
· Strategy planning
· Interpersonal/networking skills
Qualifications
· A good honours degree in engineering, energy studies, energy economics, physics, mathematics or statistics.
· Relevant second degree and masters in compulsory
· Member of relevant professional bodies will be an advantage
Experiences
Minimum of 18 years post graduate experience in one or more of the following areas- energy/power, electricity industry and market analysis/operation, energy and electricity demand modeling and planning.
Responsibilities
· Provide a strategic link between the board and the Senior Management Team on all internal aspects of the work of the Company
· Coordinate the effective implementation of board decision and guide the operations of the company in compliance with statutory provisions
· Develop and direct broad business and strategy planning processes with focus on the smooth implementation of the company’s growth strategy
· Formulate corporate business policies, define objectives, set and monitor achievement of business targets.
· Oversee the execution of partnership agreements and ensure that the Company optimizes benefits from such relationships
· Develop and maintain good reputation in operating markets and good relationships with stakeholders
· Review and report regularly to the shareholders on the market performance of the Company, organizational development plans and achieved business performance.
· Create an enabling environment that empowers management and staff to proactively respond to opportunities and challenges in the business environment in pursuit of the company’s business objectives
· Initiate strategies to ensure the corporate identity and public image of the company is enhanced
· Monitor and support Heads of Departments to enable them deliver on their individual programmes, achieve set targets and improve overall performance.
· Ultimately responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and adherence to Health & Safety policies
