Manager, Business Development at a dynamic and profitable Company

Our client is a dynamic and profitable Company whose core business is liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) marketing and distribution with offices across Nigeria. The Company is embarking on a transformation and expansion plan involving the refinement of its business operations and construction of an LPG terminal, as well as expanding capacity within its upstream services business unit. To drive this transformation and expansion plan, the Company desires to recruit dynamic and result-oriented individuals to fill the post of:

Manager, (Upstream Services) x 2

  • Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of marketing strategies to meet the General ’ and the Groups targets for retention growth and profitability She/he will take initiatives for identifying potential clients and converting prospects for the company. Specific responsibilities  will include:
  • To articulate and facilitate the development and implementation of effective business and product strategies and activities that will enhance the brand equity and maximize the revenue generation capacity of the organization
  • Identify and pursue EPC opportunities in the upstream oil and gas sector
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans and existing expansion projects that meet the objectives of the Group.
  • Assess Market opportunities, identify various target markets and develop new business opportunities
  • Develop strategies  to ensure increase in clientele base customer retention and referrals
  • Develop business case for new opportunities  of revenue streams for the business and oversee the product/service development process for such opportunities and each product or service
  • Ensure that all company documents  are updated regularly to meet the requirements of industry and regulators i.e DPR, NIPEX, NAPIMS etc.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • A good first degree in preferably petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical or the physical Sciences from a reputable institution
  • Higher degree(s) in any related discipline, such as an MBA will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of ten (10) years relevant industry experience , of which at least four (4) must have been at the same role in the oil and  gas services industry.
  • Familiarity with financial models and computation of net present value (NPV) and return of investment (ROI) analysis
  • Ability to identify and evaluate business trends, implement new business plans and profitable business opportunities.

  • Excellent communication, report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • High ethical standards and integrity
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed.
