GENERAL MANAGER, FLEET MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS
Function:
The General Manager, Fleet Operations shall provide management and supervision for the day to day operations of the fleet maintenance function. This will include scheduling vehicles for repairs and service and monitoring the activities of assigned personnel to ensure hitch-free fleet operations in terms of availability/reliability of assets
Responsibilities:
The General Manager, Fleet Operations shall have overall supervisory, administrative and budget responsibilities for the Fleet Maintenance Operations which shall include:
Control and Management
Preparation, monitoring and control of Budget
Setting and ensuring compliance to key performance indicators
Inventorying and control management
Developing service level agreements
Scheduled Maintenance
Ensuring that scheduled maintenance is carried out on the fleet.
Overseeing the management of daily assigned work, ensuring the completion of tasks and reviewing completed work for completeness and accuracy.
Quality Control
Ensuring quality and authentic spare parts and tools are utilised for operations
Ensuring quality control in maintenance and entire operations
Reports
Preparation of periodic reports which include technical reports of the maintenance section and operations analysis reports
HSSEQ
Ensuring compliance of fleet to safety standards
Ensuring staff compliance with EHS standards
Maintaining Third Party Relationships
Liaising with third party contractors
Liaising with traffic agencies
Qualifications, Experience, Skills/Competences:
A minimum of a first degree in a relevant field (a degree in mechanical engineering will be a definite advantage).
7 to 10 years experience in a supervisory capacity over a skilled mechanics staff servicing a moderate to large fleet.
Leadership and people management Skills with an ability to build a constructive team spirit where team members are committed to the goals and objectives of the Department.
Assets and Investment Management Skills
Research and Reporting Skills with the ability to present key information to management.
High Qualitative Analytical Skills
Strong organisational skills with the ability to priorities tasks, Analise data and meet deadlines.
