IITA, with Headquarters at Ibadan, is an International Agricultural Research Centre in the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), which is an association of about 50 countries, international and regional organizations, and private foundations. IITA seeks to increase agricultural production in a sustainable way in order to improve the nutritional status and well-being of people in tropical Sub-Saharan Africa.

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable candidates for this position the Institute’s Headquarters in Ibadan.

Position:

Foreman (Auto- Work Shop) (2 years renewable contract) (IBADAN)

Duties

Successful Candidates will among other things:

• Draw daily work plan for the Unit for effective utilization of the available workforce
• Compile and prepare daily activity report of the entire workshop:
• Carry out monthly checks on all IITA vehicles
• Carry out quality checks on vehicles repaired in the workshop
• Ensure good house-keeping and safety compliance at all time and
• Carry out other assigned jobs by the Supervisor

Qualification and Experience

• B.Sc/HND Auto-Mechanical Engineering plus 3 years or National Diploma (ND) with 10 years relevant post-qualification working experience
• Successful candidate must be able to diagnose and proffer solutions to identified problems on both petrol and diesel powered engines: be knowledgeable in work planning and shop floor organizations and be able to perform under pressure and deliver timely results
• Candidates must be committed, resourceful, honest and must possess very outstanding leadership qualities
