IITA, with Headquarters at Ibadan, is an International Agricultural Research Centre in the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), which is an association of about 50 countries, international and regional organizations, and private foundations, IITA seeks to increase agricultural production in a sustainable way in order to improve the nutritional status and well-being of people in tropical Sub-Saharan Africa.
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture Seeks suitable candidates for the position at the institute’s Headquarters in Ibadan.
AUTO-MECHANIC: (2-year renewable contract)
Duties:
Successful candidate will among other things
- Troubleshoot and proffer solutions to any identified problems on both Petrol and Diesel operated vehicles
- Differentiate between Minor, Major and Ton overhauls and carry out the very type required when the need arises especially on engines, transmissions and final drive units.
- Recover HTA vehicles that break down on the road.
Qualification and Experience
- Trade Test Grade I/ND in Mechanical Engineering plus a valid Class E Driver’s license with at least 10 years of cognate experience in a well established auto workshop.
- Must be physically fit, dynamic and able to work independently. He must also be a good defensive driver that can travel long distance.
