Further to the earlier advertisement of the imminent vacancy for the position below, the Governing Council has decided to enhance the achievements and objectives of the Search team that is provided for in the federal Polytechnics (Amendment) Decree No.5 of 1993. To this effect, Council earnestly invites applications from candidates who possess the following qualities and qualifications of the

Qualities and Qualifications

The Candidates for the post is expected to possess the following academic/professional qualifications and personal qualities:

• Must be a Chief Lecturer in a Polytechnic or a similar higher education and possess a Master’s or Doctorate degree in any of the disciplines offered in the college with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of teaching, research and administrative experience: at least five of which must have been gained within the polytechnic sector
• Must be able to complete a minimum of one term of four years before his or her mandatory retirement age.
• Must demonstrate evidence of strong academic, administrative and visionary leadership, initiative and creativity in positive managerial attributes.
• Must provide evidence of membership of a reputable professional body in Nigeria and evidence of scholarship publications in reputable journals, as well as presentations of papers at educational conferences, seminars and/or workshop.
• Must be able to attract research grants and development facilities to the Polytechnic.
• Must be a person with initiatives and vision for sustaining the accelerated pace of development of the college, even under financial and other challenging constraints.
• Must be fair-minded and dynamic individual with an impeccable reputation.
• Must enjoy excellent physical and mental health (with evidence from a government hospital).
• Must be proficient in information and communication technology (ICT)
• Must be a person who is not likely to pursue racial, ethnic, religious or other sectional interests

TERMS OF APPOINTMENTS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

The appointment for the term of four years in the first instance and renewable, subject to satisfactory performance, for another term of four years and no more. He salary is consolidated and the appointee shall enjoy other benefits of office as may be approved from time to time by the Federal Government.

16. Names and addresses of three(3) Referees (Employer Educational and Personal) who are to forward confidential reports on them directly to the Registrar and Secretary to council such referees should be able to attest to the candidate claims to high academic, managerial and leadership capabilities as well as their notable uprightness
