The federal College of Education (Technical), Gusau, Zamfara State has a vacancy for the post of
Candidates applying for this post, preferably female, must demonstrate evidence of strong academic and administrative leadership initiative and creative in policy formulation, good human relations and positive management attributes
DUTIES
The provost is the Chief Executive of the College.
The successful candidates will be expected to provide the required academic, administrative and professional leadership for the College is executing the broad policies laid down by the Governing Council, for the achievement of objectives for which the institution was established.
He/She shall foster with relevant organs of the Federal Ministry of Education and other professional bodies that could lead to the ultimate attainment by the College of the Status of centre of excellence for which the College has been established
QUALIFICATION
1. Candidates should posses at least a master’s degree in a field relevant to at least one programme in the college from a recognized University, plus a teaching qualification (NCE or PGDE Minimum). The possession of a higher degree as Ph.D will be an added advantage.
2. Candidates must show evidence of good track record in result oriented research in high national and international status
3. Candidates must have held senior teaching, research and top administrative posit in an institution of higher learning for a minimum of fifteen (15) years post qualification cognate experience and must not be below the rank of Chief lecturer in a college of Education or Polytechnic or ‘a Reader Associate, Professor in a University for at least Five (5) years
4. Candidate must be of good conduct, posses discipline, dedication, drive, resourcefulness and be able to command the respect and loyalty of the members of staff and the students of the College. He/She must be somebody who is not likely to foster personal, social, political, religious and other sectional interests.
5. Candidates must show evidence of membership of relevant learned societies and relevant professional bodies
6. Candidates must provide evidence of proficiency in information and communication Technology (ICT)
7. Candidates must show proven ability to attract funds
8. Candidates must show evidence of contribution to knowledge by way of Academic publications
TERMS OF APPOINTMENTS
- The Appointment is for an initial period of four (4) years, in the first instance and may be eligible for re-appointment for a final term of Four( 4 ) years
- The Salary attached to the post is according to a special scheme of service.
- The Entitlement will be in accordance with monetization policy of Federal Government of Nigeria
