AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria (APIN) is a non-governmental donor-funded organization dedicated to the prevention, treatment, care and support of HIV/AIDS in Nigeria. Since 2001, we have worked closely with key stakeholders, including government agencies, universities, other non-governmental organizations and donors to fight the HIV scourge, APIN’s goal is not just to reduce the rate of growth of HIV epidemic in Nigeria, but also to ultimately reverse its course.

Our prevention, treatment, care and support activities which span thirty-seven sites in nine states of the Federation are coordinated from our offices in , Lagos and Ibadan. Expansion in our activities has brought about staff redeployment and created a vacancy in the below. APIN is therefore inviting applications from qualified candidate to fill the post of:

Job Functions

Reporting to the Senior Administrative Officer, the will have responsibility for receiving and attending to visitors and enquiries as well as manage all official telephone calls, mails, faxes and other correspondences. She will also have responsibility for providing support as may be required. The specific functions of the job include:

  1. Receive and attend to visitors and guests as well as manage enquiries by providing responses or routing them to relevant staff members
  2. Manage official incoming and outgoing telephone calls, making calls for and routing incoming calls to, relevant staff members
  3. Despatch and received mails through courier companies, keep record of outgoing and incoming mails, ensure their timely delivery and conduct preliminary review of bills submitted for courier services rendered.
  4. Maintain contact details (telephone numbers and e-mail addresses) of staff members and site officials
  5. Produce electronic copies of documents by scanning, as requested by staff members
  6. Assist in the preparation for, and reporting on, training programmes, especially in the design and printing of certificates and tags for training participants, as well as in the preparation of training reports.

Qualification and Experience

A first degree in the Social Sciences or the Humanities and a minimum of two years cognate experience, preferably in a non-governmental organization or development agency.

Technical and Behavioral Competencies

  • Be proficient in the use of computer, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet browsing and emailing
  • Be able to use own initiative
  • Possess customer service experience
  • Be courteous and politeness
  • Be confident
