Since 1971, Family Heath International (FHI) has been at the forefront of public health research and intervention programs in the developing countries. In collaboration with national governments, local communities and leading research institutions, FHI delivers services and conducts research in HIV/AIDS, other infectious diseases and reproductive health to improve the lives and well-being of some of the world’s most vulnerable populations. In Nigeria, FHI is engaged in providing public health services and implementing programs in HIV/AIDS, TB, reproductive health, malaria, and health systems strengthening in partnership with the Government of Nigeria. To strengthen our operations in the country, we are seeking qualified candidates for the position below:
Web Designer (Department of Communications & Knowledge Management)
Location: Country Office Abuja
The Web Designer under the supervision of the AD Technical Documentation, will be responsible tot designing, producing and maintaining various organizational websites and contributing to the overall web communications strategy and special projects. S/he will develop visual concepts and designs that reflect business and creative requirements.
Responsibilities
- Create and design prototypes. Including graphic design, site navigation, and layout of content for websites
- Build websites using technologies that conform to International standards and make sure that they are universally accessible
- Ensure that the layout of the web content is accessible and logical and recommend Improvements If necessary
- Add new functionality, upgrades, debugging and enhancements for web applications
- Participate in the preparation of systems requirements and design specifications for web-enabled solutions
- Perform maintenance and updates to existing websites
- Provide training on maintenance and update procedures on web content management
- Contribute to the overall development of the web communications strategy of the organization
