INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) MANAGER at TSHIP

The Targeted State High Impact Project (TSHIP) is a five-year program focused on the improvement of health systems and the management of health systems for higher quality Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, Family Planning, and Reproductive Health service delivery in Nigeria. TSHIP is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by JSI Research and Training Institute, Inc. (JSI)

TSHIP is looking for two full-time employees to fill the position below. One employee will be based in Bauchi and the other in Sokoto.

 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) MANAGER

 The IT Manager will provide a wide range of IT services to the project staff and visiting consultants. She/he will have the primary responsibility for maintaining functioning project IT equipment, software and system, and assisting staff in developing and effectively using information technologies.

 The IT Manager responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Coordinating the set up of a secure, fully functional computer network in the project offices, including setting up a secure link between the two project offices:
  • Training project staff on effective use of the project IT systems and to improve their computer skills and providing regular IT support; and
  • In consultation with the project technical staff, designing a file-sharing system to  allow for efficient and effective sharing of files within the project
  • Maintaining and supporting the project server, computers, and network
  • Periodically backing up all project office data
  • Carrying out other duties as may be assigned by supervisor

 Required Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess University degree in computer science or information technology
  • Five years experience in the field of information technology, preferably with international projects
  • Outstanding computer skills, particularly with programs such as windows,  word, Excel, Power point, Access and outlook
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, & multitasking skill; strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills
  • English language proficiency
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team and
  • Experience in the respective region (Bauchi or Sokoto).
