The ECOWAS Regional Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERERA) is a specialized Institution of ECOWAS with diplomatic status. Established in 2008, ERERA is primarily for the purpose of formulating rules for the regional electricity market and supervising its functioning within the framework of the West African Power Pool (WAPP).
This constitution of a pool of Experts to be responsible for efficient regulation for the effective launching of its activities, ERERA desires to proceed with the recruitment of qualified and able persons having the capacity to work in teams on complex assignments, conduct studies and prepare technical reports.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced citizens of the Economic Community of West African states (ECOWAS) member states to fill the vacancy position below at the Headquarters of the ECOWAS Regional Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERERA) in Accra. Ghana

Duties
- The successful applicant will be in charge of all I. T administrative systems and processes
- Responsible for the development and strategic implementation of information Communication technology (ICT) policies within ERERA
- Develop and implement a plan for the acquisition and maintenance of all ICT equipment for ERERA
- Identify, design and manage training needs for users of the system.
- Install and configure new hardware and software.
- Develop, implement and maintain ERERA’s internet website and intranet
- Add, remove and update user account information.
- Perform routine audits of systems and software.
- Backup and restore data files for email website etc.
- Advise ERERA management on the specification, evaluation, selection and installation of all
- Prepare a yearly ICT budget,
- Any other duty as may be assigned by the Chairman of ERERA.
Qualifications / Experiences/Skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science/Information Technology
- Seven (7) years professional experience.
- Possession of a higher degree would reduce the required professional experience to five (5) years.
- Must have optimum knowledge and ability in the field IT.
- Must have adequate experience in website and data base development and maintenance
- Must possess good programming skills.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Demonstrative experience in setting up and configuring, administering and supporting servers and desktops.
- A good grounding in computer hardware, computer networking and windows
Age
The applicant should not be 50 years old or more at the time of recruitment
Language .requirement
Must be fluent in one of the official languages of ECOWAS Commission, English, French and Portuguese. A working knowledge of another would be an advantage.
