The Regional Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERERA) is a specialized Institution of with diplomatic status. Established in 2008, ERERA is primarily for the purpose of formulating rules for the regional electricity market and supervising its functioning within the framework of the West African Power Pool (WAPP).

Following the constitution of a pool of Experts to be responsible for efficient regulation for the effective launching of its activities, ERERA desires to proceed with the recruitment of qualified and able persons having the capacity to work in teams on complex assignments, conduct studies and prepare technical reports.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced citizens of the Economic Community of West African states () member states to fill the vacancy position below at the Headquarters of the Regional Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERERA) in Accra. Ghana

Communication Officer: Ref: ERA/10. (II Technical Regulation Unit)

Grade: P4 (UA 25,908 30,180)

Duties:

  • Development and upkeep of an ERERA Communication plan.
  • Together with the I.C.T officer work on the development of the contents of an ERERA website
  • Coordinate, prepare and edit draft publications (i.e. official bulletin, internal rules and regulations, procedures and annual report of ERERA)
  • Propose public relation policies to ERERA,
  • Develop and ensures implementation of strategies for maintaining good relations public.
  • Disseminate information in an appropriate manner to ERERA stakeholders and the public about ERERA and its operations
  • Advise the staff on all press, and protocol matters
  • Any other duty as may be assigned by the Chairman of ERERA

Qualifications /Experiences/Skills

  • A minimum of first degree in the , , or Journalism,
  • Seven (7) years professional experience,
  • Possession of a higher degree would reduce the requires professional experience to five (5) years.
  • A post graduate degree in media and communication or related field would e an advantage
  • Very broad-based knowledge in the workings of government and media relations
  • Excellent information gathering and reporting
  • Excellent information gathering and reporting
  • Must be computer literate.

Age

The applicant should not be 50 years old or more at the time of recruitment.

Language requirement

Must be fluent in one of the official languages of Commission, English, French, and Portuguese. A working knowledge of another would be an advantage,
