Our client is a large building material manufacturing company with a state-of-the-art plant located in the south-south part of Nigeria; the company is currency expanding production capacity to increase its increase its market share. In order to achieve its goal and sustain it, it is seeking to strengthen its current pool of talents in the area below:
Position: Head of Treasury (Ref: HT2)
The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer of the company, in providing Management with sound financial management support in treasury activities
Job Specification/Main Tasks:
- Periodical financial forecast reports and liquidity status
- Advises and manages financial and refinancing models and alternatives
- Manages – monitors, controls and re-negotiates bank terms & conditions (charges/interests) in order to minimize cost in respect of local currencies, foreign currencies and forward contracts
- Monitors, controls and improves
- internal control procedures within treasury and ensures internal controls are properly followed and carried out
- segregation of duties concerning all related treasury functions
- delegation of authorities and related approval process concerning all relevant treasury functions
- payment process of outgoing cheques
- inter-bank transfers
- number of bank transactions and treasury functions
- bank reconciliation processes with accounting department
- Manages bank authorizations on a timely basis
- Ensures safeguarding of cash and cash equivalents (chequebooks, incoming cheques, petty cash etc)
- Ensures relevant financial transactions are completely, accurately and timely submitted to accounting department for proper recording
- Proper filing/archiving of treasury documents in logical, timely, numerical sequence – in organized manner (hard copies as well as electronic documents on Shared Service Drive for Finance)
- Coaches, trains, monitors, and controls treasury staff
- Conducts year-end appraisals and sets goals for following year in treasury
Talent Specification:
Education, Qualification, Experience/Skills:
- Must have a first or second degree in Accounting or Banking &Fiancé with professional qualification from ICAN, Qualification in banking will be an added advantage
- At least 8 years experience in banking & finance industry and manufacturing
- Knowledge in finance forecast models, financing/refinancing, sale & lease back, forward contracts/derivatives, letters of credits, guarantees etc
- Must be Nigerian GAAP and IFRS compliant
- Proficient IT skills – Advanced excel knowledge, SAP/JD Edward Navision
