Provost at a College Governing Council

The College Governing Council is in the process of appointing new . Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post. Candidates for the post must demonstration evidence of strong academic and administrative leadership, initiative and creativity in policy formulation, good human relations and positive managerial attribute

DUTIES:

The successful candidate would be expected to provide the require academic administrative and professional leadership for the College executing the broad policies laid down by the Governing Council for the achievement of the objectives for which the institution was established. He/she shall foster good rapport with the relevant organs of the Federal Ministry of Education (FME), National Commission for College of Education (NCCE) and other professional bodies that could lead to the ultimate attainment by the College of the status of centre of excellence for which the College has been ear-marked

QUALIFICATIONS

i. Candidate must possess a from a recognized university in either field of Vocational, Technical or Science Education. The possession of professional teaching qualification (minimum-Nigeria Certificate in Education () or Post graduate Diploma in Education () is mandatory)

ii. Candidate must have held senior Teaching Research and top administrative post in an intuition of higher learning for a minimum of fifteen (15) years post qualification cognate experience and must not be below the rank of Chief Lecturer in a College or a Reader or Associate Professor in university or equivalent institutions.

iii. Candidates must show evidence of good track record in result oriented researches reaching high national and intemational status in their research achievement.

iv. Candidate must be of good conduct, possess sense of discipline, dedication, drive, resourceful and be able to command the respect and loyally of the members of staff and the students of the College. He/she must be somebody who is not likely to foster personal, social, political, religious and other sectional interests

v. Preference will be given to candidates from the College of Education system

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

1) The appointment is for an initial period of four (4) years in the instance and candidate may be eligible for re-appointment for a second and final term of four (4) years

2) The Salary attached to the post is according to a special scheme of service and is consolidated,
